Patrick Testa Such an amazing step into the sunshine! But it really sparkles in the context of the whole album. Favorite track: Mirror (Electronic Realization).
Zach

Zach I had high hopes for this album and holy fuck was I not disappointed. The instruments continue to be heavy yet ethereal, atmospheric yet unpredictable, the synth is growing ever more prevalent, which I like. Matt Ciani's vocals come through in a big way, I don't know if he's pent up from COVID or just growing more confidence but where he used to be this somber melancholy presence (which is fine) his vocals on this one just hit me like a fucking brick

Big Mike Deuces To me, they always amp it up each and every release. Also, so peaceful and uplifting, at least that is what I take from it.

Joe Yoksh They could tell me this sucks and to not buy it and I still would. After Anhilla and the masterpiece that is Mercy, I cannot wait to see what the band does next. Mercy will be hard to top, but I have faith that this will be a killer release.

jean paul hare As always... I stand in awe of this group. An artful concoction of reminiscences consisting of Pink Floyd, Pallbearer, MBV, shoegaze, and indie instrumentalism....they provide a digestible and powerful reconciliation between art and product. I will buy every album.

Mirror 11:14
look to the mirror. what do you see? light gale. chilling breeze? thrown down and ravaged. wounded, savaged limbs torn. the creaking ice claws toward the ship at night. lost in eternal day, stranded in frozen decay. anthems in the fog of breath, silence from the white plains of death ////silhouette, of the sea. patience marks eternity. rope twisted ‘round our wrists, bears our burden and speaks. strain, fate’s net on shattered knees. men in mired ice, pull cases from the jaws. notes from the collapsed lung of god. wade the black water at your waist as sun burns your eyes lost in the calm. stranded. look past the mirror. long and ragged set in the soil, shadows cast in flame. sky turns as we guard and wait. feet red and worn. blood red and warm. ////silhouette, of the sea. patience marks for eternity. searing wind, whistling near, rippled jaws of the dark mirror. blue-grey rot decay melts off in our sun. our light, our hate, divided from one. our pitch, our fear, our terminal sky. the ship, the face, stares back from the ice. the wind, the thrash, our skin as our cloaks. no Swell, no caird, no rich plume of smoke! the wretch, the weak, the broken and lame! the corpse still aches, drowned in the waves ///there’s nowhere to run. we all die as one. //// look to the mirror, what do you see? light gale, chilling breeze. sharp wind, and pouring sea, scratch marks for eternity

Vessels 11:37
slow night in the amber haze. float light on the unending waves. cold hands guide the way in your slow dance through the eternal door. no-one in the silent smoke to see me wading out. fingers wrap the tugging rope tight as we're drawn down into the dark below. bound together now... in our abysmal doom, clear above the foam. up from the swirling tomb & stony catacombs. by the fluorescent moon, thrown &, in an instant... frozen in the fateful fog. focus in on the ones you've lost. vessels in the tidal mist, bodies in the rush. voices throwing psalms & spit - those ahead of us (with nothing left to give but trust & pennance). our circle hand-in-hand, blood-in-rushing-blood, reaches the ocean's end, braces & succumbs to the unknown expanse. plunged into the depths. ...what remains....brought & claimed......grim reminders...... .......others have lost.......restored......we speak...... just as the last of the light subsides behind our eyes. breaks loose, inhuman & cold, unholy souls all rise. reborn in oracle's clothes to walk our faithful shores. subsumed, the circle has opened his eternal door!
